Heart of Stone
Minasta Demitigo-Tesella is the headstrong and proud daughter of Lord Johnodar Tesella. Mina, as she is known to those closest to her, is horrified when she learns her father has arranged a wedding between his only child and the tyrant Lord Basilius Lacerta, ruler of the neighboring province.
Lord Basilius Lacerta is the ruler of Magorum. The high desert province,surrounded by treacherous mountains. One pass weaves through his land, but is heavily patrolled. Most people who attempt to cross his land do not survive.
Mina consents to the marriage only because it is a requirement of the treaty between her father's land and Magorum. Breaking the treaty would mean war.
When Mina discovers Lord Lacerta's dark secret, her conscience is torn between protecting her people or her own heart.
